Manage Course Tool

Description:
  • The Manage course tool is used to add/ remove tools in the course; hide/unhide, and reorder tools in the course tools menu. You can also change the course colors and perform other course design tasks.
Who can do what?
  • Designers can access all the functions of the Manage Course tool.
  • Instructors can access all the functions of the Manage Course tool. The system administrator must set the relevant
Tip:

Consider hiding some of the course tools initially so that students are not overwhelmed during the first weeks of class. As the week progresses, you can unhide tools as needed.

How to Add / Remove course tools
  1. From Designer Tools, click Manage Course.

  2. Click Tools. The Tools screen appears. There is a checkmark next to those that already appear on Course Tools.

  3. Select the tools that you want to add, and clear the check box for tools that you do not want to see under Course Tools.

  4. Save.

 

How to Hide / Unhide course tools
  1. From Designer Tools, click Manage Course.

  2. Click Course Menu to display the tools that are currently added to Course Tools and My Tools.

  3. To hide a tool, in the row for the tool, click Hide Link. The link to the tool is hidden from students and an (H) appears next to the tool name on Course Tools on the Build and Teach tabs.
