Calendar Tool
| Description: |
- You can create course-related
entries that can be public or
private.
- You can also create personal entries
that can only be viewed by you.
- Entries can be linked to external
websites or to course content. You
have the capability to add entries
that repeat at a specified time
either on several consecutive days
or on selected days of the week.
- Entries can be viewed for a day,
week, or month.
- The global calendar is integrated
into the section. The global
calendar links all the different
section dates into one global
calendar.

- Designers can
create and edit calendar entries.
- Instructors can
create and edit calendar entries.
- Students can
view calendar entries, and if allowed by the
builder/teacher, they can add private and/or public
entries.

If
you would like to filter your
printable view, add text (that the
entries you are searching for will
contain) in the title or description
of the entry.

| How to Create
a Calendar Entry |
- You
need to add the Calendar Tool in the
course menu. To add the Calendar
Tool, click on the Build Tab --> Designer Tools --> Manage Course --> Tools: check mark
Calendar and click 'Save.'
- Click
on the Calendar tool in the course menu
and click on the Add Entry button.
- Type
in the title of your message in the
Title text box.
- Type
in the description of your calendar
entry in the Description text box, or
you may use the HTML creator in the
description text box. Select the On
radio button and the HTML editor will
load. Type in your description using the
HTML Creator.
- From
the Date option, select the month,
day, year and time you want this entry
to display in the calendar.
- From the
Entry Type section, you have the
option of all the different calendars
you have access to. You may select
Public or Private from the Access
drop-down menu if this entry is for all
users in your course, or you want to be
the only user to see it.
- You
may select whether the entry will repeat
every day or every week and the date it
stops recurring.
- From
the Links section, you may attached a
document(s) or you may link your entry to
content within the course such as
discussion board forums, assignments,
assessments.

| How to Create a Printable View |
- Click
on the Create Printable View button.
- Under Date Range, click on the
calendar/clock images. From the
scroll-down menus, select the
corresponding start / end date and
start / end time.
- From Course Selection, select to print
entries from all your courses or from
specific courses.
- From Access Level, choose what type of
entries you would like to print:
private, public, and/or both.
- Click on the Print button. The print window
will display where you select your
printer and choose the print option.

| How to Delete
Calendar Entries |
- Deleting one entry: click on the day
from the Month view tab or click
on the Day view tab. Then, click
on the action link icon to the right of
the entry you would like to delete.
Select the Delete option from the
drop-down menu. A confirmation screen
displays. Click on the OK button.
- Deleting more than one entry including
recurring entries: click on Delete a Range and specify the
start and end date. All entries falling on or between those dates
will be deleted. Click on the Delete
button.
- Deleting all calendar entries: click
on delete all button. A warning window
appears. Click on the OK button.
