| The
Assignment Dropbox |
In order to
grade assignments, you need to go to the
'Assignment Dropbox.' To access the
'Assignment Dropbox', you need to be on the
'Teach' tab; from 'Instructor
Tools'-->'Assignment Dropbox'. You may view
all assignments in the assignment dropbox or
you may filter the assignment dropbox and
only view one assignment at a time.
The different tabbed views allow you to:
- view
only graded assignments
- view
only submitted assignments
- viewing only published assignments
- view
assignments that have been returned to
- students for further editing in the not submitted tab
- View all assignments

Viewing
Submissions for a Specific Assignment
- Click
on the Assignment Dropbox link from the
Instructor Tools menu.
- Click
on the View by drop-down menu found in
the top right hand corner of the screen.
- Select
the assignment you would like to view
from the drop-down menu.
- Click
on the green arrow button to the right
of the drop-down menu.
- The
screen refreshes and only the selected
assignment will appear in the Submitted, Not Submitted, Graded, Published and All
tabs.
- Submitted tab: you access the
submissions that are ready for
review.
- Not Submitted tab: will
contain assignments that have been
returned to students for editing.
- Graded tab: will contain
submissions that have been reviewed.
- Published tab will contain
submissions that have been made
public in the course.
Evaluating Assignment Submissions
The instructor may:
- Return
the assignment to the student for
further editing***.
- Save
the submission and review it later.
- Grade
the submission and return it to the
student.
- Mark
the assignment as complete if the
assignment is not for a grade.
- Accessing a File Attachment Assignment
and Returning it to the Student for
Further Editing.
***The
instructor has the option of reviewing
student assignments and coaching them in the
process by giving them pointers to improve
their assignment responses. The assignments
are then returned to the students.
- Click
on the Assignment Dropbox link from the
Instructor Tools menu.
- The
Assignment Dropbox screen displays.
- Click
on the Submitted tab.
- Click
on the assignment title that you would
like to preview.
- Click
on the Return to Student(s) for further
editing radio button
beneath the Save Options heading.
- Click
on the Save button.
Note:
The returned submission has now moved to the Not Submitted tab.
The student can access the submission and
resubmit it. Once resubmitted
the assignment will reappear in the Submitted tab. |
